The victory makes the Tar Heels football team eligible for its 4th straight bowl game, and places this North Carolina team back into the fold in the ACC Coastal Division, just 2 games behind division leading Virginia Tech… who UNC will play on Nov. 17th at 8pm ET (ESPN’s Thursday Night College Football Gameday).
The Tar Heel offense was led by big-time performances from QB Bryn Renner, RB Giovani Bernard (photo), WR Dwight Jones, and WR Erik Highsmith.

The biggest difference of the game for the UNC football team, compared to its previous 2 weeks’ losses, was the Tar Heels ability to win the turnover battle by forcing Wake Forest into 5 turnovers (1 fumble lost & 4 interceptions) verses UNC’s 1 turnover (fumble). This advantage started when Zach Brown sacked Tanner Price, which forced him to fumble and Brown recovered it early in the 1st quarter at the Wake Forest 34 yard line (Zach Brown Sack+Fumble Video Here).
